Principle and Processing Method of Straight Seam Steel Pipe

Straight seam steel pipe is a general term, which means that the pipes produced by straight seam welding with steel strips and high-frequency welding equipment are called straight seam steel pipes. (It is named because the welding part of the steel pipe forms a straight line).

According to different uses, there are different post-production processes. (It can be roughly divided into scaffolding pipes, fluid pipes, wire casings, bracket pipes, guardrail pipes, etc.) The low-pressure fluid welded pipe is a kind of straight seam welded pipe, generally used for water and gas transportation. After welding, it is subjected to one more water pressure test than ordinary welded pipes. Therefore, the price of low-pressure fluid pipes is generally a little higher than that of ordinary straight seam welded pipes.

Straight seam steel pipe is a steel pipe with parallel seams between the steel pipe and the weld, which can usually be divided into cooling oil pipes for transformers and metric electric welded steel pipes, etc. Straight seam steel pipes have many advantages, such as very simple production process, low cost, fast development speed, high production efficiency, thus ensuring product quality.

The principle of straight seam steel pipe is to use paint film to isolate air, corrosive media, etc. to protect the metal surface from corrosion. Commonly used methods for painting the surface of steel-in-steel insulated pipes and equipment include manual painting, electrostatic spraying and high-pressure spraying.

Processing methods of straight seam steel pipes

1. Forging steel, using a forging hammer to generate pressure through repeated impacts and a press to make the billet into the shape and size we want.

2. Drawing steel, the rolled billet is directly reduced in cross section and lengthened in length through the drawing of the die hole.

3. Extruding steel, placing the metal in a closed extrusion space, applying pressure at one end, and allowing the metal to change into the same shape and size from a specific die hole.

4. Rolling steel, passing the metal billet through the gap between the rotating rollers, because it is compressed by the rotating rollers, the material cross section becomes smaller and the length becomes longer.
