ASCE 30 RAIL
ASCE 30 rail is a standard steel rail track developed by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). It is a common track type used in railroad systems in the United States and South American countries, among other countries.
ASCE 30 track is characterized by its lighter weight, smaller section, and shorter gauge. Weight is 30 lb/m (15.2 kg/m). It is usually used in light railway systems and short-distance railway lines, such as industrial railways, mining railways, agricultural railways, etc.
The advantage of the ASCE 30 track is that it is lighter and easier to install and maintain. Plus, its lower cost can provide an affordable solution for lines that don’t need to withstand heavy loads or high-speed trains.
ASCE 30 track belongs to the light rail track, it is not suitable for high-speed railway systems and heavy freight. Also, due to its smaller gauge, it is less stable and smooth when going through curves, and thus requires more careful operation and maintenance.
